Cosmetic laser treatment helps reverse the signs of sun damaged skin. Below are answers to some of the most common patient questions.

How does it work?

Facial laser treatment works by directing a beam of light to an irregularity in the skin, such as enlarged blood vessels or irregular chromophore. This removes the abnormality without scarring or damage, while stimulating collagen production to tighten the surrounding tissue, resulting in improved skin texture and reduced signs of aging.  Laser facials are our first level of treatment for discolorations of the skin.  For more aggressive and extreme results the highest level of treament is our fractional eMatrix (this is totally different from a laser facial), visit our fractional eMatrix treatments.

Is the treatment painful?

The laser skin treatment causes only minimal discomfort, requires no numbing agents and is basically painless.  You will only feel mild heat during your 10-15 minute treatment.

How many treatments are required?

Typically several sessions (five) are required for the full-face treatment. The average treatment takes about 10 – 15 minutes. Results may be seen after the first few treatments.

How long does recovery take?

You’ll be able to return to normal activities immediately, though sunscreen should be applied as a post-treatment precaution.
