Spider veins for Legs or Face are one of the most common forms of vein disease and, like varicose veins, are not a sign of bad health, poor circulation, or blood clots. They can occur anywhere on the body but most often occur on the legs.

Spider veins are also sometimes called spider telangiectasias. A variant of spider veins is a reticular vein which tends to be larger and blue (whereas spiders are more delicate and pinker); both are treated using the same approach.

Spider veins rarely cause pain, but when they do it usually occurs at the site of the spider vein complex and in women can vary with their cycle.

The treatment of spider veins is extraordinarily straightforward and easy. Either Laser Treatment or Sclerotherapy (Injections into the Vein) are the two forms of treatment.  At your complimentary consultation, we will discuss the options that are appropriate to your particular concern.

What are the benefits? Our advanced technology minimizes the redness and bruising normally associated with traditional treatments. Best of all, our new technology allows us to treat people of most ethnic origins.  We offer both Laser Based treatments and Sclerotherapy.

How does it work? For laser based  treatments the energy is absorbed by the pigment in your blood and collapses the unwanted vein. The laser energy is delivered through a hand-held device with a cooling tip that protects your skin. We can use double cooling (contact cooling tip and cold air) for additional comfort.  To learn more about Sclerotherapy click on this link.

When will you see results? The appearance of leg veins will either dramatically fade or completely disappear during the treatment. Some vessels may show temporary swelling that will subside after a few hours to a few days. The redness of the treated vessels will gradually disappear as the healing process occurs. This may typically takes two weeks but may take longer.

How often can you have it done? Most patients see excellent improvement after three treatments. You can optimize your results by closely following the post treatment instructions. The usual treatment interval are eight weeks apart.

Are there any side effects? Immediately following the procedure you may experience some redness in the treated area.

How long does it take? Most treatments typically take around 10 minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated. More extensive vessels will take more time.

Can I use topical anesthetia?  Topical anesthetics may be optionally applied to the treatment area (this is greatly encouraged to increase your comfort).
